Healey Elliot 2.4 litre

Not on Display - In Reserve Collection

Donald Healey had worked with Humber on armoured fighting vehicles during the Second World War and by 1945 had started designing motor cars.

The Healey 2.4 litre was the first car to bear the name of the former rally driver. It created a sensation in the austerity of post-war Britain. With saloon bodies by Elliot and roadsters by Westland, their streamlined panels are of magnesium/aluminium alloy on ash frames. Both models did well in competition, having class victories in the 1947 and 1948 Alpine Rallies.

For many years this car was owned by the Donald Healey Motor Company.
