This outstanding leather-bound album from the early 1900s, depicts Fowler Steam Engines. It has recently been catalogued by a team of volunteers and staff, making it available for viewing for the very first time.
Two class D2 'Doll' compound road engines built in 1900. The picture shows War Office trials on the Hogs Back, Aldershot on 15 November 1902. The rear engine is pulling a train of wagons up a steep incline, utilising its wire rope for haulage.
