This outstanding leather-bound album from the early 1900s, depicts Fowler Steam Engines. It has recently been catalogued by a team of volunteers and staff, making it available for viewing for the very first time.
Two A class B6 'Big Lion' compound road locomotives nos. 9289 and 9290, built in 1902. In November 1902 the War Office conducted a trial with oil fired engines hauling a gross load of 62 tons from Aldershot to Leeds and back. The fourth of four pictures in this album taken at Frimley Common near Aldershot on 15 November 1902.
